Stealthy Sucker

I have a rubbernose pleco (just got it yesterday) and it's lived up to my expectations from the 3 day ownership of a common pleco. I have a handful of tank decorations, and it likes to hide under some tall fake plants and hang upside down under a bridge.

Thanks to its predecessor, i'd found all the "pleco hiding spots" trying to track it down, so i knew where to look if it went missing. Well, when i got up today i noticed it was missing, and looked in all the spots and didn't see it. I figured it had to be inside the castle decoration, and i'd been meaning to level out some gravel anyhow, so i tipped the decoration over. I still didn't see it. I looked all over the ground near the tank, checked all the hiding places again, then i saw movement in the castle.

It's attached itself to the interior of the castle, up one of the keeps. Hasn't come out all day, hope it's not stuck. I'm fighting the temptation to try and get it out of there just to make sure, but i also don't want to stress it out. Suggestions? If it's stuck i don't know how i'd get it back out of there.

catfish, like your pleco, enjoy secluded dark areas, being nocturnal. They will come out during the night and evening hours, until then, that's his teritorry and he's staying in it.

Dont worry i'm sure he can come out. You might even find him there again the next day because he may go back during the day. As TFA says, they love to hide and will find the most secluded place, much to our annoyance!

Well, after i turned out the tank lights and most of the lights in the room, i went over and looked and the terror of the castle was out and about the tank. It returned to its castle by the time i got up this morning. If i hadn't already named it i would've had to call him vamp.

One of our Albino LFBNs loves to spend most of his day inside a big cave in the tank, so I'd say he's found a spot that he loves.
