I have been planning a tank with all plecos for ages and I finally ordered the plecos tonight! Hopefully I will have them by the end of the week. I ordered the following:

L66 King Tiger Pleco
L129 Scrible Pleco
L177 Queen Gold Nugget
L201 Inspector Pleco
L270

I have created tons of caves and crevices for them to hide in throughout the tank. I have done a lot of research, so hopefully all will work out. I am pretty excited to try this, so I just thought I would share it with you guys

The L201 Inspector Pleco is a Snowball pleco isn't it? I have one, they are sooo cute.

Hey Guys,
Here is a pic of the tank set-up so far. I still want to add more caves and stuff though. I might go and pick up some rocks today on my way home from work. I ordered them from www.exoticfinds.net which according to a pleco forum is a very reliable breeder. If you want to see what they look like, just click on "plecos" and it will show you a list The tank is 29 Gallons, and I was going to try having a betta occupying the upper levels. Right now my betta buddy is in there by himself. I was keeping my BN plecos in there for a while and he did fine with them. The plecos that I ordered are supposed to be peaceful towards other fish and good for community tanks, so I am hoping it works. The people on the pleco site seem to think it is a good mix, so I am keeping my fingers crossed! The ones that I ordered are all pretty young, so that should give them time to get used to eachother before they reach adulthood. Since I took the pic, I have also added some tall plants for Buddy to rest on towards the top of the tank.

Thanks Shawnie! I have had the tank set up for a month, and it has taken some major convincing for my husband to let me spend the money to order them Finally!!!! When he said yes, I was on the site at 10pm ordering them. He was like "I can't believe that you are ordering them at 10:00 at night!" I told him that he had made me wait long enough and that I couldn't stand it any more

There was a thread on a Pleco site I go to asking why "girls" didn't like plecs. this person was bemoaning the fact his girlfriend thought they were gross.
I think even the ugly ones are cute LOL I told him he needed a new girlfriend or new Plecos

Nope I made sure that I didn't order anything that will get bigger than 6-7 inches. Most of them stay between 3 and 5 inches. The will be a couple inches understocked, but I figure with as messy as these guys are, that is not such a bad thing. I am going to add some extra filtration to the tank as well cause I think it could probably use it.

Exactly Though, I did have a pretty good reason that he would have had a hard time trying to get around......our 1 year wedding anniversary is on the 4th of august, and he hadn't gotten me a present yet....happy anniversary to me! and there is no better way to say it than with new fish


I think they are adorable. In that fishlore poll that asks people to vote on whether or not they think plecos are cute, I think I am one of the only ones who voted yes. Oh well, I guess we are all entitled to our own oppinions

I just love my little BN. I think I take more pics of him than of my betta. (Shhhhh, don't tell him that, though!)

Oh I think they are all cute. I love their little faces. I don't think I would call any creature "ugly" simlply because I think that there is a beauty and uniqueness to be found in all living things. I guess I'm just an animal lovin nature girl though, lol

I won't tell I wish I could get more pics of my plecos, but they are always hiding when I happen to have my camara out. They are such shy little buggers!

Mine hides all the time too; I just make sure that I have my camera out on the days that I am feeding veggies. He won't hide when those are in the tank for anything!

Grrrrrr!!!! No they didn't come! I did not get an email or anything from the seller explaining why they didn't arrive, and I emailed him three times (once yesterday and twice today). He did not give me a tracking number like I asked for so I can't tell if it has shipped or not! I am so bummed. I took the day off work so that I could make sure I was home to receive the package so that if any were dead, the Live Arrival gaurantee would still be valid. What a waste Hopefully I will hear from them soon. I hope they are open on Saturdays, cause I will be calling them first thing in the morning! Sorry for venting, I am just super frustrated.

For the smaller plecos, I find those bubble rivers to be a good way to get to see them. It's shaped a lot like the pleco breeding caves that you can buy and ours often hang out in there.

I love all plecos. I was drawn to them as soon as we got into fish keeping.
I use to thin the bristlenoses were ugly but I have a breeding pair, I grew the female out over the past year then got her brother a few months ago. They are F1s and the fry we have F2...I love them now. Not fond of the albino fish tho. Creepy looking to me. lol

That sounds cool. I don't think I have ever seen those before. Where can you find them?

I know, plecos are so cool....and there are so many different kinds! Have you had luck breeding your BN's yet? I have a pair of albinos, but I am not sure what sex they are yet because they are not big enough yet. I like the albinos, but I guess I can understand why some would think they were creepy lol.

I called this morning and got an answering machine. I have not had a response to my emails either. I am so confused and I don't know how to handle this since I don't have a tracking number. They were supposed to send them DHL next day by 3:00pm, but I don't know how to check and see if they were sent or not. I am starting to get really stressed and anxious.
