hey, when I was looking at the fish in my LPS, i noticed a pleco that was black and white stripped! I thought that he looked really cool! I was wondering how big do these guys grow? I want to either get a BN or one of these guys in my new 20 gallon. What do you guys think? thanks!

You will need to ask the LPS what kind of pleco it is. If they have it, have them give you the L-number, not the common name for it because often the common names cannot be used to identify plecos. If it is truly a zebra pleco it will only get 3-4 inches, but I doubt a regular pet store would carry them. They usually cost around 100-500 dollars each and you usually have to buy them from breeders. If you can get more info on it, I could probably be of more help.

alright thanks! wow, if it is a zebra pleco, there is no way im paying 100-500 bucks on a fish!!! but I will ask them the next time I go there, thanks again!

No, I dont think it was one of those that you said butterfly, It had a lot more white on it, I didnt look really close at it but it definetly had a lot more white! thanks though!

Ok Butters time to go back to the LFS Besides a common name get a scientific name or L number I will die of curiousity if you don't LOL I love Plecs of all kinds.

The first time I saw a picture of zebra pleco on an avatar I thought wow I want one. When he sold his I thought wow I could buy my dream tank with that amount of money he was asking for his, I think he had 4 or 5 at that time.
