Much more active pleco

I got a BN pleco a couple weeks ago. When he came home with me, he had a ton of algae to eat and finished that up pretty quick. Seems like after that, he was pretty reserved for a while. Also, during this time there was no air pump in the tank.

A couple days ago, I finally got one and hooked it up. He's being much more active now, but there is also much less algae. Is him swimming around more likely due to him having to try harder to find algae or happier with the air pump?

BN plecos do enjoy a current, and will be happy in quite a strong one such as comes from a powerful filter. But they don't need it, stictly speaking.

Are you feeding yours now that the algae is nearly gone?

I'm feeding him a cucumber slice once every 3 days. You can still see algae in the tank, there always seems to be some in there.

They seem to be more active some days than others. Ours love to nibble on algae, omega one veggie rounds and cucumber slices.. all in the corner with their driftwood.
