Leopard Sailfin Pleco

We didn't have a way to look this guy up so I bid on him, figuring if he got big we could resell him. He's such a beauty, I hate to have to sell him, but we just don't have a tank for a 20" pleco.

If it helps any, I have one, they don't grow as fast as a common....mine has been in the 125 now since July, and has grown from about 5" to about 9"....

I know I'll have to find a home for him as well.. but they are lovely, and have a good personality.

CBC, If you are going to rule the world, you will need larger tanks, so by ruling the world with larger tanks, you would have a larger tank for him, so you would not need to sell him to someone who would probably put him in a smaller tank because you have all the larger tanks.

LOL.. Well, I guess I'll have to wait for the new imperial palace to be built in my capital state of Hawai'i since we're out of furniture to put tanks on. If we had a place for it, I would've bought a nice 75g with stand at the auction for him to live in.

We could keep him a little while, but the longer we do, the harder it would be to sell him..

I know if you sell him, it will be to someone who is knowledgeable and who has a very large tank for this beautiful creature!

Yea, I either want to sell him to someone we know will care for him or sell the bed, buy a big tank and we'll sleep on the floor beside it.

I vote for option no.2!

I hear those new inflatable beds are very comfortable and think of the pleasure you'll get lying there and looking at this magnificent creature as you drift off!

Don't be surprised if we do that.. especially if we see another deal on big tanks like the ones at the fish auction sat.

Congrats on the find! You will find they eat more than the common plecos. Mine will be coming in one of these weeks as winter is starting to come in.

Thanks. He does seem pretty active, even more than the BNs. I might put a 2nd veggie clip in there for him.
