4"-5" Pleco-COME AND GET IT.

Any Toms River, New Jersey area members out there? I have a 4-5 inch Pleco that getting too big for the rest of his tank inhabitants. He's in a 55, but the rest of the fish are much smaller, and I've seen him be aggressive. I don't want to flush him, so anyone out there can have him (OR ANY IDEAS?)
THANKS.

flush him?! many pet stores or LFS's will take fish if they aren't massive.

Yeah, check with an LFS to see if they would take him. They may not pay you or offer a trade or anything, but at least your pleco would have somewhere to go, which is the most important thing.

Flushing fish is extremely cruel, since they do NOT die for a long time. This fish shouldn't have to suffer because you don't want him anymore.

As the others said, take it to a petstore and hand it over.

If you know anyone who specializes in mailing live fish, I will take him! I'm in Syracuse and I think Jersey is pretty far away. If you want to send him, I'll give him a great home

Definitely don't flush him - he'll die a slow and painful death in the sewage system. You could check local fish stores and if there is a fish club near you, they probably have auctions that you could sell your Pleco at.

Sort of OT

but I was born in Tom's River! We moved away when I was 18 months old, so I don't remember anything of the place, of course. This is the first time I've run into anyone from there, tho, online.

Back to your regularly scheduled conversations.
