Waht kind of Pleco is this?

I just got this guy and he is so much cuter than my last one. My last one was a 14" common Pleco who now lives life in a heated pond of about 15,000 gallons. This new one is very different. Different markings, Shorter body, Larger sail. I was hoping to ID him just because I am curious. Thanks in advance to all who can help. This is a very busy night time feeder in my 85 gallon. He is currently only 6"

Do you have a pic of him? You might want to check www.planetcatfish.com too - they've got pics of the many, many Pleco species.

Very nice. To me, it looks like the following species, but you could ask on Planet Catfish to be sure.

If it IS this species, it grows very large.

I have a Gibby that looks very similar, however, the spots are more circular and defined... so, looking at the markings on yours, I'd say that Barbrella hit the nail on the head with the link she provided.

Good luck with your ID...
