Hey all, i had a question, since im generally new at this hobby( 2 years or so ) my friend got a 6 inch pleco for a ten gallon with a heater, airetor and a filter, and its only inhabitants are a black moor. Now, i thought that that wasnt such a good idea, but i figureed the filter would fix that. Could you "technically have a 6 inch pleco in a ten gallon", if so, how long would the pleco last?thanks like i said, i didnt think it was a great idea.

imho, that would be pretty cruel, and should not be done unless the fish is being quarantined temporarily... and then i would say for no longer than 3 weeks or so.

You haven't said what kind of pleco. A 6" common pleco should never be placed in a 10 gallon tank, except as stated to quarantine for a couple of weeks.

If there is already a black moor in the tank, it is fully overstocked as is.

He wouldn't last too long, between the toxins from waste output and internal damage from stunted growth.

It wil be cruel as he hardly will have place to move. Try persuading him to trade it for oto's...

okay i will, i knew sometihng was bad! He traded it back and now he has some snails and some other fish, thanks!
