Is This Acceptable

Hello, I have some brief questions i would like to be answered by professionals or people knowledgable in this hobby. THANKS!

1) Would a pleco eat or suck on other than driftwood, or does it have to be driftwood?

2) How long will it take for a new pleco to eat cucumbers/ other veggies?

3) YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME, I LOVE FISHLORE

Most plecos need driftwood. I'm guessing it has to do with either their teeth or their digestive tract, though this is just a guess.

Could be within minutes, could take a day. I have a theory that it has to do with how much the veggie is breaking down. My fish always can find older veggies faster. Cukes, however, tend to draw fish (and snails) far quicker than most other veggies.

Thanks.

Nearly every fish (except for truly strict carnivores) would benefit from a fresh veggie treat.
Where they range on the "herbivore vs carnivore" chart determines how often they would benefit from it.
A standard pleco can live on cukes and zucchini and lettuce and the like.
On the other hand, the smaller, carnivorous, plecos are best only have them every once in awhile.
Mollies could live on veggie treats.
Barbs need a more balanced diet.
Bettas need mostly meaty foods.
And so on and so forth.

It's that wood has some enzymes in it that are good for their system and the wood also has lots of fiber in it so it helps clean out the system. I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU TO GO AND EAT SOME WOOD.

A) The wood usually provides a good hiding spot for plecos, so they feel more comfortable and less stressed.

B) For the veggies, it is usually a good idea to leave it in there overnight, so the pleco gets it and some of the other nocturnal fish/animals in the tank can get it. So leaving it overnight is usually the best thing to do with them.
Hope I helped.
