my Bristlenose bristles at last

I have a BN pleco and I recently posted on here enquiring about his lack of bristles. Someone advised me that if it is a female she will not get any. I'm delighted to say that the bristles are spouting from everywhere and HE? may well be a real ugly thing after all.
One question, I do not have any wood in my aquarium, should i get some and if so, what are the precautions when buying and introducing wood?

Buy a piece of driftwood from your local fish store and even if they say it is ready for the tank, take it home and boil it. Boil it atleast 20-30 minutes (If it all won't fit at one time just boil half and turn it over to boil the other side. ) Then let it cool before adding it to the tank.

If you have any java fern or other plants of that nature it is cool to attach them to the driftwood so that their roots grow into the driftwood and looks neat.

Good luck.

Our male just about 2" is just starting to show his bristles too. Just the tip are sticking out. Cute. We have a female who is larger, we hope they'll breed for us when they are ready.

Cute pleco!
