My LFS has a large variety of plecos, but I don't know which ones eat algae and how big they get.

I have a 50 gallon tank so I'm interested in one that won't get too big and that eats algae. Any suggestions?

You could go with a rubber nose pleco, a clown pleco, or a bristlenose pleco. They are all nice and small and do great jobs of cleaning algae.

I'd go with some bristle nose plecos they love algae but need real wood..it's a part of their diet. My clown pleco is a nice one...chubby female. You could go with any of these:

Bristlenoses do a real good job! Plus you get a variety of them to choose.
