Pleco not eating enough?

I have a pleco in my tank with an Oscar and the Pleco never seems to eat. he hardly ever eats the algae wafers and after the wafer been sitting there for an hour, my oscar just eats it.Is there any other food my Pleco would actually like?

Assuming you have a common pleco...
There is a lot of veggies like lettuce, marrows (zucchini?), cucumber that you can put in the tank for him to eat. You can trap it between magnetic algae cleaner, under deco, rocks or get a veggie clip to hold them down. Pleocs are nocturnal so its very likely they wont come out to eat during the day.

What kind of pleco is it? Some are carnivores and do not eat algae or veggies.

Hi, I see this was posted over a week ago, but I have some advice in case you are still having problems.

My pleco wouldn't eat his wafers either, so I tried cucumber. He ate that like a pig, so after a couple more cucumber treats, I used the veggie clip that held the cucumber to hold one of the algae wafers. My pleco went right for it, it was the first time he acknowledged a wafer. Since then, I can just drop them into the tank, and he will go for them.

How much does a pleco need to eat? I have a clown.
