umm, how long do clown plecos live on average? i've had mine for about six years and have kept her as healthy as a horse. Plus, she's the dinosaur of my tank. To me, she is old, but I have heard of a guy who has had a living raphael catfish for 27 years (and counting). So, is my clown pleco old, or still young "species-wise"?

I would think that they can live for about 10 years if given the proper habitat, food, etc. But it also depends on the speices, there are quite a few plecos that have the common name of clown pleco. If you can figure out the scientific name, and maybe the 'L' number, I think someone here could narrow it down a lot for you. But my guess would be about 10 years.
