Decisions, decisions...

so i found a pretty cool online site for plecos...

http://www.exoticfinds.net/

beautiful, beautiful fish... variety of both sizes and price ranges. but i have 2 questions...

has anyone had experience with this particular company, and are the reputable?

secondly, i know that some varieties of pleco are not necessarily the algae-eating tank-scrubbers they've been made out to be... which ones are less inclined to eat algae? i can't even find a source to research each specific one... so far i've heard on this forum that the gold nugget and the queen arabesque are not great algae eaters... any others that people know of?

thanks!

Planetcatfish.com is a source to research each specific one.

Go to the Cat-elog drop down menu, select common names, then P, then type pleco in the search box once the new page loads up.

Hope this helps

The Butterfly pleco is so pretty, but not much for algae eating, if that's what you're looking for!

Common names can be confusing and sometimes are used for more than one species. There's another pleco also called "Butterfly" which doesn't eat algae.

I see the one you linked is L168, which is an algae eater.

It's better to use the "L" numbers so hopefully you'll get the right one at the petstore!
