I don't think my Rubber Lipped Pleco is eating

I have a rubber-lipped pleco in my 30 gallon tank. Got him about 3 weeks ago but I don't think he is eating. I have put algae wafers and blanched slices of zucchini in the tank after the lights are out and the moonlight comes on. Yet, I never see him latch on to the wafer or zucchini when he comes out. All he does is suck on to the rocks, but they have no algae growth on them so I don’t know how much food he is getting from doing that. So, does anyone have any tips on what I could give my rubber-lipped pleco to eat?

Leave the food, for a day or two but keep on putting he'll soon make out that its food. You can also feed blood worms and other sinking pallets as i think they are omnivores.

I think I have the same problem with my bristlenose, which I've had about a week. The wafers disappear overnight, but I think they are being eaten by my rosy barbs (it's hard to tell because I only put the wafer in when the lights are out, but I've never seen the bristlenose go near the wafer, and when I tried watching the other day with low lighting in the rest of the room, the barbs seemed to be nibbling at it). He's cleaned up all the algae in the tank, but there's none left now, so I'm worried about whether he's getting enough to eat. Any advice?

When I first got my BNs I was worried about them too. They had eaten all the algae and seemed to have no intereste in the zucchini and cucumbers I put in the tank for them. I was afraid they would starve.

I kept putting the veggies in every day, then after about a week I saw both plecos on their veggies.

I always put the veggies in the same place, and now both go running to them the second I put them in.

I think it's probable they've never had these veggies so it takes a bit for them to know it's food. I also like to break up an algae wafers and stick the pieces in the slices of zuchinni and cuke so they get more nutrients.
