When I feed flakes to the rest of my fish, I've noticed that my pleco Kramer has started coming out and cruising along the gravel, sucking up flakes. Is this normal? I just want to make sure that him doing this isn't a sign that he is not getting enough to eat. He keeps the algae in the tank under pretty good control, and he also eats algae wafers and cucumber.

Yep, he's doing his job as a bottom dweller: scavenge food on the bottom of the tank. Great that he comes out so much for ya!

My plecos do that too!

My last pleco did this too, only he would flip upside down and skim the top with his mouth, sucking in any duckweed or flake food. Plus it made the weirdest noise.
