its been about 4 weeks since my platy had a batch of babies. Now she's about to have another. She hasn't eaten much in the last couple days. Should I be concerned?

She might not eat if she's ready to drop fry......

Thats usually a good indicator that she is about to drop.

Some platys don't eat before and/or after dropping fry.. at 4 weeks she is definitely due any second now. I'd just try to keep her stress level to a minimum and you'll soon have the next batch of fry.

i guessed that it was normal i just wanted to make sure that's what usually happened. How long should I expect it to take for her to start eating again?

they're supposed to start eating in about 24 hours after dropping fry. some will need to rest a few days and it would be good maybe to get all the fish in another area eating their food, then drop some pellets around her.

Right now i have her in her own tank. I'll probably just leave her in there until she recovers.

cool.. does she have a few cave-like decorations in there & maybe some plants? just to help her be calm.
