Platy chasing tetras?

I have had a single male platy in a 10 gallon tank with 6 neon tetras for a number of months. In the last fews days I have noticed the platy chasing the tetras quite a bit. Is this normal behavior?

welcome to fishlore!!! it is for the smaller tanks...they get comfy in their tanks and the bigger they get, the less room they have ....

it seemed like everyone welcomed you rather than answering your quesiton? lol

for your platy chasing tetras, i think you maybe should give the fish more room and your platy may be less aggressive if you add other platies in the tank with it...although, that goes back to needing more room for them. those platies will have babies awfully quick

Thanks for all the welcomes, everybody!

I'm in the process of setting up a 75 gallon aquarium in the next month or so, and will be moving the fish there, so hopefully, the problem will go away. I don't know if I will be adding any additional platies to the larger tank though.

I think they will be a lot more happy in the new tank. Maybe your platy would be more happy with a few of his own kind? I don't know, I'm new at this.
