Everywhere..Platy Fry '-)

My 29G is over run with Platy fry when I decided to put a divider in and let the fry grow out. Well somehow through the side of the divider they kept coming, 10, 15, a ta time, a few weeks later another 20 show up.. (its still happening).
I have them growing out in a 5G, and looking for a larger tank. They will go in the paper or Craigs list, somehow I'll find homes for all of them. Except for the blue platy fry
I would caution anyone wanting to know how to raise fry, because you will have FRY and plenty. Platys are rabbits with fins. What happens after seeing those cute little faces for weeks and THEN you need to find a bigger tank, lol.
Heres a few close ups of my little wee ones, about 3 weeks old.

Congrats on the babies!!! Those pics are darling You could try housing some of them in an outdoor tub pond for the summer (depending on temps in your area).

Now that I have found my BR Parrots to be so mean to my platys I cant take any off your hands like I had planned. I feel really bad about that..
Maybe some folks in fishlore are looking for platys? hmmm?

I would be interested in a few, if I can get my 90 gal. set up in the next few weeks...but that's iffy it's going to be. But I'm sure you'll ALWAYS have some fry ready, lol. I'm hoping to turn my 55 gal. into a peaceful planted community, so platys would fit in well.

hi amanda..lol..the fry are doing great! NOW I have blue platy fry in the 29G on the adult side of the divider, and they are thriving. Im looking for another 20G/long or regular for another tank. I dunno seems like much ado about breeding nets etc, when all I needed to do was put in a nice solid plant area and presto KA-ZILLION fry Now I have wayyy to many. I want to find homes of course becasue I don't have the ability to 'cull'. Which means I may just have a household of platy's lol.

I learned quite a bit from platys. I went from having 5 of them to around 100+ in less than 6 months so be prepared.

I found through plenty of testing that to get those fry to grow very fast feeding them freshly hatched brine shimp works the best by far when compared to other micro/crushed foods.

Getting them to a good size fast enough so that they can be given away will be imparative for you because you will get over run with fry quickly.
