Hi all,
I am a newbie and started my tank 2 weeks ago. After doing some reading from this site and the threads posted I decided to cycle my tank with fish.I have 3 balloon mollies,3 tiger barbs,4 corycats,1 golden gourami and 3 platies.Not knowing the difference I had 2 males and 1 female.1 of the males got stuck in a window in a castle in the tank and died.The other 2 paired and for a few days were inseprable. Now she is hiding in the bushes at the bottom of the tank.

Today she is near the top but doesnt seem to be in any distress but I'm puzzled. Whats the matter with her?? As for the nitrogen cycle it's kept under control. (via daily water testing and changes).

welcome to fishlore!! the pic is great for a newbie....and it looks like she is healthy ...even keeping the cycle under control, which is awesome, it effects each fish different..are you using a detoxifier with your water changes? ....if you can find some prime, that is going to help you keep them safe as it will detox the poision of ammonia and nitrites for 24 hours until your next water change...cycling with fish is allot of work and patience and hard on fish so goodluck with everything!!
