Blue Platy Fry

About two weeks ago, my mollies gave birth, and possibly a blue platy fry, to about 20 fry. Most of them are dalmation molly and one (as far as I can tell) is a creamsicle molly. Now, the blue platy fry was/is pregnant (she has the black dot right around her anal fin) and seems to have been ready to give birth.

I would like to know if anyone has a picture of blue platy fry around the age of 1-2 weeks. I want to be able to identify the molly and platy fry. I noticed platy fry look a little longer and have bigger eyes but I want to make sure.

Thanks!

Ohh I remember reading something about the size of the eyes but that information escapes me for now.

But anyway, at around a month or 2 months old, you should be able to see color on them, maybe even a little sooner. For now, without pictures to see, your guess is as good as mine.

How old is your livebearer? Is it a blue molly or blue platy? Do you have any other males in the tank?

It's a blue platy - and my girlfriend gave it to me from her tank. She had a dwarf sunset platy male with the blue platy so I could take care of her. She noticed they were performing mating acts, so it's possible some of them were her babies, but I guess I will have to wait and see.

There are just too many fry to be able to single out which ones I think are suspicious.

Well, Platys are born with colour, so they'd be a mix of sunset and blue, but as I don't know which alleles are recessive or dominant, I can't be certain what colouration they'll eventually turn out.

I guess it's just a waiting game from here. I've got about 20 platy fry right now, half orange and half red wag. They're orange wags, so I guess blacks generally dominant in this whole buisness..
