i dont think so, since the platy is a livebearer she is probably already fertilized, just keep an eye out for little fry. and make sure to note that she'll probably drop several times. also, i dont know how many tanks you have but i would get one set up for a grow out tank for the fry. if you leave them in with the mother and/or other fish, make sure that they have LOTS of hiding spaces, otherwise i would remove them and put them in their own tank, or put the mother in her own tank until she drops, then put her back into the main tank.

I have a red and black platy, I sexed them to have 1 female and 2 males. one died so now only one male.
She has a HUGE BULGE under her and there are sort of white spots or blotches under her. Can someone supply me with some pictures of pregnant platys or tell me when to move her into the breeder box?
