Platy is very ill

Hello. I have a platy that I treated for ICH, about a month ago. I though he was through the worst of it , but I was wrong. He went to the bottom of the tank and didnt swim. And now he lays on his side. His body is "S" shaped now and when he does attempt to swim, its very quick and erratic. He automatically goes back to the bottom. He has now stopped eating. He as of yesterday he has a white spot on his left eye. I have tried alot of things with no luck. I dont know if the best thing is to euthanize? I really need an experts opinion. water parameters are as follows= ammonia-0
nitrate=0
nitrite=.1
alkalinity=190
pH=7.5
Hex 5 gallon with 1 platy Tank Temp=78degrees

If you have nitrite your tank hasnt finished cycleing or is in a mini cycle for some reason...heres a link to help you http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm

If your tank was previously cycled, its possible that the meds you used to treat the ICH has killed off the benificial bacteria. Your fish may now be suffering from nitrite poisoning. I would up the water changes and continue the tests til your cycle is back to normal. It does look, by the test results that your tank is now going through another cycle.

I agree. With nitrites showing and the lack of nitrates the tank isn't cycled.
The tank is a year old? Has it been up and running for that long with fish?

I'm really sorry your platy isn't well. When it comes to putting down a fish, only the owner can tell if they've done all they can do and it's time for the fish to rest.

Be very careful when handling the tank! Ich is one thing but a curved spine might as well be fish TB which is zoonotic (sp) to humans!

Update= I tried the minced garlic----and it worked!!!! My little platy ate for the first time in several weeks!! All my water parameters are still stable and holding, no ammonia,temp is 78, I have added more aereation. I just couldnt give up on him, I hoped so much he would just eat something. and he did. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much garlic you can give a fish? And how often? I assume by his eating, that he is not hopeless and still has a will to live. I was so happy I cried!!!!!! Thanks so much for all your help, you guys are the best!!!!

Thanks for the update. A couple of bits per week shouldn't hurt.

Should I continue with daily water changes or would that be too much?

It really couldnt hurt him. Water changes always help when a fishy is sick.
