Is it me or are platys just swimming poo machines?

There's a lot of other fish that are a lot messier,you can cut back on the amount of food and how often you feed them to reduce their waste,other than that clean,clean,clean. Or get a heavier planted aquarium to help reduce the wastes,it's good for plants.
