Ohgosh, I Have Fry.

My platy i bought from my local PU always looked fat, but i thought she was just a chunky girl.

Today, my boyfriend and i were changing the water in my tank, and i seen a TINY little fry swimming at the top of the water. We then went fry searching to see how many were in there, and we found 15+ fry. She still looks fat, but they are the only two of the same kind in the tank.

Some are bigger than others, i was just wondering if i have to do anything different now that i found them, or should they be fine?

I'm leaving them in there, as the other fish who seems to be hunting them down is my female betta.

I put filter media over the filter intake, too.

Congrats on your new babies! If you don't want them to get eaten put them in a breeder net. You can find them for like five dollars at Petco. That is what I did with my swordtail fry and it worked really well. As far as feeding them, you can crush up livebearer flakes and they should eat them

I'm going to leave them free swimming in the tank,
all my fish aren't very big, and none of them seem to be eating them.
The fry look like they've been there for a little while.
Maybe when i was in Newfoundland for eleven days...

I have very small pelets that float, then sink.
do you think they've been picking at thoes?

maybe..I would feed them crushed flake food also I would move them to there own tank or a breeder box.... any pics yet?

Edit:
because your other fish even if they are small will probably eat them, even the mom will eat them...not very motherly in my opinion.

i know, but i have nothing to raise them in.
nor do i have the proper stuff.
the breeder box is too small for all of them, so i'm going to let the little guys fend for themselves.

i've been trying all night for pics, but they're fast little buggers!
