My preg platy is struggling to not go belly up, literally. She is ready to burst, but i dont think she's gunna make it.

she's currently laying at the top of the tank and not moving, she's on her side but still breathing;I can see her gills moving and her fins move occasionally

she keeps trying to swim down, but something is making her float back up

omg... i am hoping for you, and her. I love platies, they are some of the sweetest fishes around.... i hope she mskes it.

I hope that she makes it. It sounds like she's having some swim bladder trouble. If you have one of those netting breeder boxes, she may be more comfortable in that.

do you have a bit of salt in the water? i have heard it helps..

Unfortunetly, she didn't make it. She was in the breeder box, but that wasnt helping at all, so I put her in the tank and she moved more, but I think she was under too much stress. After all, she was less than a day away from dropping her fry. She was one of my three fish I got originally.

I'm sorry that you lost her, you did what you could but sometimes pregnancy is just too hard on livebearers.
