Every time I get my camera to take a picture of my platies, they swim around frantically even if they were being calm for the past ten minutes. they dont do this when the camera is just sitting next to the tank or when you get close to it. is this just normal fish behavior or are they really camera shy(or just picturephobic)

i thought that at first but they dont go to the top.

It does sound like they're anticipating a coming meal. Platys are little stomachs with fins, so this would be pretty normal for them.
