I have 3 young Platys, about 3-4 weeks old, when is it safe to return them to the tank from the floating trap? I would hate them to be eaten by the other fish. When is the time that they cease to be a food source?

i am in your shoes as well... i have been told as soon as they are large enough to not to fit into the mouths of your largest fishes. i don't think mine will fit in anybody's mouth any more and he is trying to get through the tank divider to be with the other fish? lol i'm afraid if i put in him in now while i still consider him small that the tetras will pick on him or something.. alot of time and effort into this lil fella don't wanna see anything happen to him.i figure at the rate he's growing he'll soon be about as big as my neons (already about half the size)and then i plan to remove the divider.

When you move the young to the tank with the adults, be sure to have plenty of hiding spots since they will probably chase the young a bit.
