so... how big ARE fry when they finally arrive?

the possibly preggo platy looks a bit thinner tonight.... I've been at work all day, I fed peas this AM, so I'm not sure if she just had a good poo, or if I need to be looking for fry.... and if I am looking for fry... what do they look like?

They are a maximum of an 1/8 in long.
They are usually a very light yellow to orange depending on type. Blue Platy fry are more of a gray.

They will be very small, as swords said, and if your substrate is brown, or tan, it may be next to impossible to see them....They are eyes with a tail! Usually will be found around plants, or under shells, or in the cracks of rocks. I have them in my tank with mom and dad, and with lots of java moss, shells, rocks, and driftwood, I usually save 3 or 4 of each batch....I don't try for more than that as it would over populate the tank too fast!

If you don't have any special food, crush some flakes in a ziplock bag, and sprinkel on the water twice a day...I also feed frozen baby brine shrimp twice a day. If you just have a couple of fry you shouldn't over feed just to try to keep them fed. The fry seem to do fine also just snatching a bite of dropped food from mom & dad, and eating algae.....

They are pretty small, like 5 millimeters.
