Hello

Do you know what a blue moon platy looks like? I'm planning to get a male one to breed with my females, but, does it look good? Is it really blue? Do you have a photo?

I've not got a picture. So sorry about that! But, if you get one please may you put it on this forum. I would like to look as well! I'm looking into buying one.

Are they nice or aggressive. Any feed back would be much apprecated!

Platys are very friendly fish. I have never seen any of mine try to bite another fish.

I think someone posted pics of them on here last year. They're beautiful platys and I would love to find some. I believe they're a silver/blue color.

I searched around and found a few interesting tidbits (not much seems to be out there, though).

This link shows what a UK fish site calls a "blue moon platy."

(note: if the super-long URL is problematic, go here and look in the right-hand column, fourth from the bottom)

Then, run this Google Images search, and you'll see what I see.

You'll see several "blue platys" (note: not "blue moon"). I just include this in case you've seen one once before.

Also notice that for one of the results which is called a "blue platy," the exact same pic appears elsewhere in your results and is called a "neon blue platy."

I will also add that, while searching, I came across mention of one variety called a "blue mirror platy," but I never saw a pic.
