Platy has passed away...WHY????

yea guys my male platy passed away today he was acting a bit different the wasn't as energetic the last few days and today i was like where is he and then i found him died... near the filter i took him out. I had inspected him before and after his death, there was no sight of any physical effects of freshwater disease
could it have been it was just a normal fish death no disease involved?

Anything is possible. Fish are like humans, they can have organs go bad earlier than they should, or whatever. But as the human race is in such a hurry to categorize and label everything there is a disease name for almost any situation that could occur. Sometimes it could be chalked up to just natural causes.

yea, like CWC said - it really could be anything. I'd just keep a lookout for any signs of other fish acting lethargic in the next few weeks.

For a natura death it should be old enough.

How long did he live ??

Age is definately one of the leading causes of natural death, but not necessarily the only one.

Take humans for example:

SIDS- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Children with chronic heart conditions
Children born with internal deformalities such as underdeveloped organs, etc.
Children born with systic fibrosis
Young teens that suddenly have something happen such as cancer or organ failure.

Those things could occur in fish also. (Not necessarily with the same names, but the same types of things.)
