Just out of curiosity really....

I have a tank with 3 mollies and originally 2 platies. The male platy died after not too long but before he did we got a couple babies. One survived and we got another male, which also died but not before spawning 2 sets of fry. So i have 3 young females that have made it - don't know why we have problems keeping the males, but anyways.... I am wondering how long it takes for them to become full grown? Obviously, all 3 "children" fish are at different stages - the oldest is probably 3-4 months old, the 2nd a month or two younger and the 3rd a month or 2 younger than that. All of them we didn't see her give birth like we have with the mollies so it's all approx. - we just discovered them one day. When I compare the oldest to her mother, she's still maybe half her size, probably less. Does it really take that long for them to grow?

Under ideal conditions, most livebearers reach full adult size in 8-10 months.
