Are my Platies scared of my guppies?

Well yesterday i went and bought three(what i think are male) guppies, two neon crescent platies and a bristle nosed catfish.

Now my guppies seem to be very happy swimming circles around the tank following each other and what not, ghost(bn catfish) seems good too slowly wandering the bottom and often enough climbing the walls of the tank.
Although my two platies (Mayfair and Park lane) seem very quiet and shy, they keep to the bottom of the tank hiding behind an artificial plant I bought, they don't move much.

Why could this be, any suggestions on how i could keep them active?

Platys should be extremely active fish. If they are sitting around on the bottom, it is generally a sign that something is wrong. In my experience healthy Platys never hide at the bottom, even if they're new to a tank. A group of 3 or 4 Platys would be better, but it shouldn't cause your guys to hide all the time. Often petstore Plats are sickly, so keep an eye on them for signs of disease. Are their fins clamped?
