This morning I saw my fish as usual and then one of my platies disapeard for 7 hours, looked every ware (except under a couple cavy slates that I created) for hideaway then he/she appeared, haven't seen that in the 6 days Ive had them Wondering if this is normal behavior ? dont see any fry's around.

Fish hide in hiding holes as a natural behavior when they do their form of sleeping, as well as stress relief. It is just like when humans need time to themselves to unwind. But yes, that is a natural behavior in most fish, including platies.

Most fish only sleep half their brain at a time. They do not have the hemispheric differences that humans have, therefore they can stay in a basic state of repose without being fully out like humans. (The sleep thing is a sidenote, sorry for rambling)

Thanks!
Noticed one of my Rosy barbs the odd time goes to a shaded place and just sits their, normally their darting all over. They like the back of the tank unfortunately, maybe its the air bar they like.
