I have a sunset mickey mouse platy and it needs another platy tank mate. If I get a different species will they be happy together and play along nicely or is it best to keep them the same species?

Any platy will work fine, I have mickey mouse, sunset, and red wags together and all get along great.

we have 3 different kinds and they do get along fine, but the 2 that are the same seem to enjoy swimming together the most so if you can get the same type, i would.
