How many piranhas could be in a 55 gallon tank?

I used to fit 7 red belly in my 45 gallon tank and they were fine so I guess that would be a good number for your 55 gallon.
Piranhas don't swim around too much but if you have a bigger tank it would be better for the fishes if they do decide to swim around once a while.

I have 4 rb piranha in my 55 gallon, along with a 10" pleco, and I would say they have plenty of room.

7 Piranha in a 55 would probably be the most I would put in there.

I'm with you on that one! Stupid laws (). But I guess it would be horrible if people started getting them and them realeasing them in the Florida waterways! Ugh. It makes me cringe at the thought!
