35 gallon hex, no go?

Got this tank for free yesterday and started cycling, I bought some red belly piranhas with friends for our 55g, theyre about an inch long right now, could the Hex tank adequately hold 3 or 4 of them?

Ive heard its not good for them because of theyre swimming style but looking for people with experience.

also thinking about a largemouth bass for this tank.

I would recommend something slightly bigger. The problem with this tank is that it is taller than larger, and that always reduces the space fish have to swim.
