Hi everyone. I have a question I would like to ask people that keep piranhas. I have an elongated pirahna that I have had for about 3months. He stays at the top left corner of tank and doesnt move until I put feeders in the tank. I'm trying to get off the goldfish and feed frozen foods. I also have added plants to make him feel more secure. Is there anything more I can do and how long possibly will he go before he eats the frozen food. Any help I could get is appreciated.

hey i am a new piranha keeper too. how many piranhas do u have? what is their size? what is the tank size? try to feed them pellets and dry food and feed them live food occassionally. keep them in a school of at least 4. they r a little afraid of lights, so put some driftwoods and hiding places.

With that particular piranha it must be kept alone...I'd recommend frozen uncooked shrimp which you can get a your grocery store...all of our piranha loved shrimp.
Goldfish are full of fat and aren't good for the piranha...if you do get feeders..try and get ones that are from their area or region...we had convicts in the tank for forever.
