I said goodbye to my boys today

I'd been looking for a home for a few of my fish for a few weeks now. I decided to post them on ksl classifieds this morning (utah's version of craigslist), and I'd already gotten 2 offers. I gave my mollies Janis and Jefferson, as well as my betta Floyd away to a guy who had a 150 gal community for the mollies and an extra tank for Floyd. I gave up the mollies because the puffers were getting more aggressive, and they'd be happier with other more peaceful fish. I gave up Floyd because he wasn't happy sharing his tank with others, and he was stressing all my other fish out. It was so hard to give them up. I was so close to bursting into tears, but it's in their best interest. I just pray that they'll be taken care of well. It's for the best though. Bye bye my little boys.

That must have have been a very hard thing to do. It's wonderful that you acted in their best interest. I'm sure they'll be happy in their new homes.

Aaaawwwwwwwww Pink
You made such a hard decision, but you had the best interest of your fishies at heart and that makes you such a good person. I am really proud of you for making the right decision. At least you know that they went to a good home with tanks that they will be happy in. Sometimes we have to make hard choices when it comes to our fishies and it is so hard when we get attached.

You are a great example for more than one pet owner around... It was a great thing what you did for them.

i'm so sorry that you had to make that decision. you're a good mom for doing what's best for your fishies

i know you still have some fishies (right?) but if you get lonely for more, i'm sure Martini's Mommy will need some betta baby sitting very soon!!!

g'morning PFP
I know that was a very hard decision to make. But as was already said, you did the best thing for your fish. I have been struggling with the same decision over one of my Angels that I have had for a very long time too.

Aw that is too bad, sometimes ya gotta do what you gotta do in the best interest of everyone.
I had female angelfish who was a meanie. I sold her in June to a guy who gf had an angelfish tank. It took me 6 months of her beating the poop out of my black male to finally let her go.
Now I am in the position of letting my angelfish pair deteriorate b/c of the parasites or to euthanize them. But that is a whole other thread all together

Thanks.

Floyd was getting on in years... Dave said he's probably about 20 months old, and with such a traumatic first year he had, it'll be surprising if he lives too much longer. At least this way he'll have some peace in his last few days/months/whatever.
