| Woohoo I got java moss! Yes, I've been looking around for this stuff forever, and finally got some today! I got it from another fishkeeper that I found on the Utah Aquatics forum. I just wanted to share my joy, lol. It's now decorating both my betta tanks, and they all seem to be loving it! |

| I have clumps of it scattered about my 55 as well and all the fish seem to love picking at it and swimming around it trying to pick out food that may have floated in it. Its nice to have some natural plants in the tank then just artificial, which I have a lot of as well. And the java moss does fine in the traditional hood lights that have low wattage. |

| Well, I tried my java fern in there, and it wasn't doing well at all, so I gave up. And I plan on raising the SG even more, so figured it wouldn't be worth it to put more plants in there. |

Here is a list that are brackish tolerant, but I think they have to be gradually adapted. http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_...ter_by=&page=1

Almost like drip acclimating sensitive fish. Think that would work. I wasn't aware there were so many myself but did know that Java Fern usually works well.

I would like a good quantity, but I abhor snails, many years ago, they completely took over a very nice setup, and I never got rid of them completely, until the aquarium was completely removed, drained, thoroughly cleaned, then resetup for a different species.Since then I am real careful where my plants come from. |

| Snails/eggs can be removed from just about any plant with a 1 teaspoon of alum per gallon of water solution.
Alum is a spice used in pickeling and can be found in most grocery stores.
All of our java moss is kept with malaysian trumpet snails. |

Carol | Alright thanks
If I come up with a few extra bucks maybe I'll get another plant and see how it goes. It would be way cool to have that tank planted! |
