Are you putting them in your 30G? Is it 36" long? If so, it should work.
I'd add the cories first and let them get established.

Pictus can get a bit rowdy with each other, so I'd get only one.
For corydora, go with 5 or 6 of the same species.

Don't get the pigmy corydora. Pictus are catfish which means opportunistic eaters.
Pigmy cory are cats too, but stay very small and could fall prey to the pictus.

Provide cover for them to rest in/under, using things like slate leaning against the tank back, caves and/or driftwood.
If you give the corydora a chance to get settled in first, then it should be ok in your 30G.

Different fish have different temperaments, so be ready with an alternative plan.
Ask the LFS, before you buy him , if they will take the pictus back ifn case he turns out to be a problem.
hope this helps,

pitcus catfish like to be kept in groups of at least 2-3 and get anything to 6 to 10 inches so you should keep that in mind. i do not see any problem keeping them with corycats once you have enough cover for them and the tank is not over crowded .

keep in mind pictus catfish get around 8" and are a carnivorous fish. keeping him well fed should keep his eyes off the cory's. also remember that cory's are armored catfish, so they should be fine with a pictus. it would be wise to buy the pictus as a small 2 or 3 inch fish, as they do grow to as big as 8 inches, plus they are very fun to watch grow.

how big is the tank you are putting them? any less than 30 gallons is not sufficient for a pictus catfish due to there adult size of 8 inches, possibly 10. also keep in mind they are fast moving fish so they will need any extra space you can give them. if you are planning on getting more than one pictus, i would suggest getting a larger tank, because of their potential adult size.

good luck

I agree with alice

NEVER catch a pictus with a net and always use a container of somekind..they have sharp barb like fins that will get stuck in a net and you will have a real devil of a time getting them out

bad wolf are you sure you are talking about pictus? they are usually 4-6 inches as adults

that should be enough space for a small shoal of 3 pictus and a shoal of 5 cory's.

is there going to be anything else in the tank?

Yeah, but I decided not to get the corys since they are so expensive, and I'm not sure what else I'm going to have, I have some ideas, but nothing set in stone, I was wondering if you had a big school of tiger barbs, if they would leave angel fish alone or not

Well in my experience the angelfish seem to do fine with tiger barbs mostly because of the size difference. And if you keep a good school of barbs together (say about 5 or 7) everything should be just fine.
