Disappearing White Clouds

I've had a school of 6 white clouds for over a month now. About 3 weeks ago I added 3 pictus catfish. I feed them sinking shrimp pellets and algae wafers, many of which my 4 silver dollars snatch before they hit bottom. In the last 2 weeks, 2 of my white clouds have disappeared. I thought they would be too big for the pictus but I'm afraid the one I call Big Daddy is having them for dinner after lights out. What do you guys think?

They'll eat just about anything they can fit in their mouths. If the pictus is large, it's a definite possibility that the minnows became a snack.

Peaceful, will eat fry (and small fishes when it is fully grown), but otherwise harmless.

Yeah, pictus can grow pretty big, and they will eat themselves to the bursting point.

It's been a little while since this post so I thought I'd update. The 3 remaining white clouds have been doing fine and I've been making sure the pitcus get plenty of wafers and pellets. So yesterday, I decide to give 3 more a try; totaling 6 in the tank, a good school. This morning I only find 4! GRRRRRR!

I do love my pitcus but those white clouds were $4.99 each! Quite an expensive snack!

For sure

I wouldn't doubt that your fish are becoming food my Pictus ate a rose red... he hides out in a rock like cave in the center of the tank and all you ever see is his face and whiskers... one little rosy went in and no little rosy came out... it was kind of funny because it happened as I was sitting there... the rose reds are for my bichir but he got one first...

Just a reminder to check the dates of the original post. This one is a tad bit old.
Thanks!
