What Happened to my Pictus?

I bought one for my new 30 gallon tank that has cycled and all the levels are normal and the pH was perfect for a little fellow like him.. but the night after I bought him all of his scales started to disappear...luckly he was in a tank by himself so need to worry about other fish getting sick....any way anybody know what he has?

im sorry your pictus isnt feeling well you say water is perfect but what are the readings? and what test kit are you using? pictus are sensitive to unsettled waters...and seeing how no one was in with him, id start there

Please check the dates on threads before you reply. This one is 2 months old. I'm sure the problem has been resolved.
Thanks

I know this is an old thread and is most likely already resolved, but I just needed to ask.

I was under the impression that pictus catfish didn't have scales. Or for that matter, most catfish ecept for a few specxies were scaleless. The just have a smooth, scaleless surface.

hi IrNinjaBob, you'd get more answers if you started your own thread. To do that, click on fish forum home, find the forum you'd like to post in (freshwater beginners, saltwater beginners, a specific type of fish, etc) and click on it. right above the list of threads there should be a button that says new thread, click on that and you can post your own thread.

You're right about the pictus cat, they are scaleless fish as are most cats.
