Babies!!!!

I think that these are black skirt tetras. Found them in my tank a few days ago.

That was what I thought at 1st to but now I am leaning toward the tetras. Look at the vertical stripe on the body and at the eyes.

I vote guppies.
They have the wrong body shape for black skirts.

They're Platys. Guppies are longer and skinnier.

Platys are possible as there are two females in the tank and one did give birth - but - the vertical stripes about mid body and the coloration around the eyes makes me go HUMMMMM?? This should be interesting.

They'll probably color up as they get larger.
I still say they're the wrong shape for black skirts.

They could actually be guppy/platy X they seem to have a little bit of both to them, definately platty but possibly with a little extra thrown in. A clearer picture if you could get one would help

No I am fairly sure they can't they are completely different species I had a senior moment there sorry so Platty seems to be the answer

I kinda like the name pluppies. I think I just might call the fry that until we know for sure what they are.

I have the two female platies in the tank that came from my husband's tank. We separated the males (he still has them) and the females (came to me). I also have two clown loaches in the tank but don't know if they are he's or she's. Same situation with the danios in the tank (the he/she conundrum). The tetra's I am getting an idea of who is what. I have male guppies but no females. It's a 30 gal tank (breeder style) so the load is fine for the tank. It is probably understocked.
