Probably a dumb question, but I'm wondering if my piece of petrified wood will have the same affect on the pH as drift wood, or is it just like an ordinary rock at this point?

Hahaha good question! i think it would be considered a rock now not sure about the pH though..

It would be considered a rock, and should not affect PH

A rock. We have several pieces of petrified wood in our old fishpond. I actually had to break one piece off with a sledge hammer and rock chisel so I could put my new pond in.
