ph issues

I have a 75 gallon tank and it has had a couple of fish in it , and so i found out after these last guys had died that the pH needed to be down ! I have finally got it down a little , my question is i just checked it and usually i go for and angelfish and i do have a pleco that so needs to change tanks ( in a 10 gall) and maybe something else , but my ph is kinda in between 6.5 and 7.0 ! should i add fish ?

Most around here would not recommend adjusting your pH with chemicals. Usually fish adjust just fine to your normal pH if acclimated properly.

Is your tank cycled? What are your other readings? ammonia? nitrite? nitrate?

These readings will help get your question answered.

I have to agree with Holly. I've kept wild caught scalare(angel fish) in water with a ph of 7.5-8.0 with no problems. You can cause alot more harm to fish by having the ph level be unstable.

I have to chime in 3rd. I have angelfish spawning every two weeks and fry surviving in 7.6-7.8 PH. They do not need a low ph. Adjusting PH and the resulting fluctuations will stress fish and ultimately make them sick.

Is it cycled? Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 20 or below?
If so yes you can get fish. I recommend only transfering the pleco over and adding a couple of small fish wait a week then add a couple more , continue doing this until you have it stocked the way you want it. By adding a couple of fish at a time you are allowing the beneficial bacteria to grow to meet the needs of your fish before you add more.
