pH Issue

I setup my 55 gallon with pool filter sand, some silk plants, and boiled rocks from my yard. I thought all the rocks were granite but apparently one of them wasn't.

My water comes out of the tap at pH 7.5 and my pH in the tank is 8.0. I'm guessing this was the rocks so I removed them. I now have 6 cherry barbs in the tank that seem to be fine(currently cycling with safesmart) The issue is that when I do a water change the pH of the water I'll be putting in will be different than whats in the tank.

Any suggestions on how I can get my tank water back to 7.5,which is the tap pH, without stressing my cherry barbs.

thanks

It will gradually go back down with your water changes, or try taking out say 10% and refilling that with Distilled water (not spring water) its sold in gallon jugs like milk is... distilled water has no hardness buffers and very low ph so this will even the water back out, I actually use a mix of half distilled and half tap water to get my ph down to 6.5 to 7 for my community tank. Just remember with ph consistency is better than trying to get it perfect, drastic changes in ph do more harm than it being not "just right"
