| Re: Suggestions for high ph tank You could use peat in your filter. But you'd have to be using it very systematically and carefully, making sure that it keeps your pH stable. Constant pH swings are worse than a higher or lower but stable pH. I wouldn't advise you to use any commercial pH adjusters. If you really want to use a pH modifier, use a natural one, such as peat. Commercial products are not healthy for fish at all, they're dangerous chemicals.
Another alternative would be to have only hardy tropical fish, or fish species that naturally like hard water. This would eliminate the need to adjust your pH. |
