Pearl Gouramis in a Community Tank

Okay so I bit the bullet and upgraded to a 20 gallon. I have 3 Kuhli Loaches (may add one more) and 5 White Cloud Minnows. Would a pearl gourami be okay in a setup such as this?

I have heard they are the most peaceful of the gouramis and was wondering if a lone female would be okay or would it be better to go with two?

I think that a Pearl Gourami would work well... Only one, as they are aggressive with their own kind.

Great I was really only wanting a single female but was worried that she might be lonely.

Wcmm are more of a cool water fish while gouramis are more warm water species. Also pearl gouramis can grow to be 5 inches long. Are you sure your tank is big enough?

wait your right! I was thinking they were dwarf gourami size.... Are you sure you don't want a dwarf gourami?

I agree with gouramiguy...minnows like the cooler temps and do much better without a heater...they are like goldies and adjust with the seasons......loaches and gouramis do better in the tropical temps..although ive read some keep loaches in cooler ...ive never kept them so maybe ask butterfly about that....

Victim of the LFS lol I have had my minnows in the same tank temp since I got them which is around 74-75 F. Of COURSE the person at the LFS told me they would be just fine, even though she knew what temperature I was keeping the tank at and what I was planning on putting in it

They seem to do just fine, adjusted to the temperature. They are active and eat and explore constantly.

... Okay so I need to learn how to read a thermometer I set the HEATER at 76 F but I should really look at the thermometer. Tank temp is actually at 78 F. *sigh* I really wish I could learn to be less scatterbrained.
