| | Moderator | you need to get a new carbon and make sure all the meds are out of that tank as gouramis dont handle ICH meds at all..especially strong ones...daily water changes with some stress coat+ will help alot as im sure that tank has had a major setback with the ich ....it probably is in a mini cycle so the stress coat+ is a must to help him breath... |

| | Fish Helper | Yeah, I lost 19 fish (devastating to lose my rummy-nose tetras ). Maybe more to come.
I replaced 5 gallons of water and the carbon filter has been on for about a day. I use AquaSafe by TetraAqua. If the gouramis are sensitive to ich medicine, then why are they the only survivers, miuns one oto, so far? Will my gouramis die, and please, dont say they'll live just to make me feel better, I get that too much.
The female is acting as if all of her roommates just moved out and now she has the apartment all to herself. Shes as jolly as ever. |

| | Moderator | no one can say if it will die and I was surprised the ottos and gourami made it you need some stress coat+ to detox the ammonia as the cycle process is probably totally out of wack..the aquasafe is good for the water conditioner but doesnt do much for the ammonia or nitrites... |

| | Fish Helper | The other oto already died. How quickly does the carbon filter remove the meds?
P.S.- Shawnie, how did you know I used ich meds? |

|
| | Fish Keeper | she must have seen your ich thread, i just saw it, you should use the product shawnie recommended or prime another product which detoxifies ammonia for 24hrs that and the test kit will be your best friend in overcoming this fiasco. |

| | Fish Helper | You could always put your fish in a bucket for a while. Condition some tap water and put the fish in the bucket until things get a little safer for them. Change the bucket water every 2 days. Your gourami's would be fine in a bucket they are hardy fish but I'm not so sure if the otto would. |

Not sure if another female will reduce/increase bullying you can add some more deco or re-arrange the deco to reduce aggression on a different note your water parameters are almost there, keep up the water changes and the .25 Ammonia, should go away. keep us posted
